So, im pretty much decided on saving my money and deleting my 2013 GMC Sierra Duramax. Has just over 100,000 miles on. The NOx sensors are getting replaced as soon as dealership gets them in and calls me to set up an appt. im new to this whole process bc ive never owned a diesel. Im really wanting the DEF deleted the most, but while im at it, may as well go ahead and delete EGR and DPF. Ive researched a couple of kits that will take care of what i need. As far as the EGR, do i need to go full delete on it or can i get by with the blocker plates. I don't know what is best, but i do want it done right. Im not looking at adding tons and tons of power. I just want my truck deleted the correct way and for it to run great also. This is not going to be done in the next week or even next month, as it is going to take me a little time to save my money. What do you guys think about these and which whoild you lean towards? Here are a couple of kits i have been looking at.

I've been told that the lml's have a stronger valve and a blocker plate wasn't necessary. Someone might correct me, but just an egr/dpf tune is what I did. You can just buy the delete pipe or a full exhaust. Lets you keep your egr system intact too.

Please forgive me if im not understanding or sound like a beginner. I am new to all of this. So the egr and dpf can be deleted with a tuner and and then either the delete pipe or full exhaust and that will take care of having the full delete that i am wanting? As far as a tuner, could i go with the MiniMaxx Race Tuner or would it have to be the EFI Live?

Buy a delete pipe or full exhaust it doesn't matter muchf of your purposes. You do not need a block plate on these for what you are doing either. There are two egrs on these. I tune around those. I have never had a problem with truck performance or codes. I prefer running a full exhaust myself. Proflo 5 inch is what I personally use.

Yep, just tuner and exhaust don't even need an intake

Is this the exhaust i would be looking at also? Agaim, sorry for all the questions. I have always purchased parts and tuners for gas engines bc that is all i have ever owned. The whole diesel engine and purchasing parts is brand new to me, and is quite overwhelming to me at some points. Thanks again.

That's the kit I went with, you can get your tuning and exhaust from the same place and save a couple bucks. If you want to save a couple bucks you can buy just the sections of pipe used to delete all the dpf piping as well.

I appreciate the input. Will there much of a sound difference if i go with the full exhaust vs. the dpf delete pipe? Can the efi live be purchased through thoroughbreddiesel.com as well? If not, where can they be purchased together? Once i get the tuner, then i will have to get with somebody trustworthy to do my tuning, or how does that part work? Also on the tuning, what is this V2 and AutoCal and the dsp switch i have seen people speak of? Is any of that stuff of any importance to my needs as well? Again, sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure i know what im doing before i purchase any of this as opposed to purchasing something and then asking questions. Ive done that once or twice before and learned my lesson.

Go with the autocal unless you want to do your own tuning (id leave that to the pro's), they'll send you a tune or preload a tune that you want, then you just flash it into your truck. DSP is a switch you can get to turn between tunes on the fly. I think there is only dsp 3 for the lml, at least I didn't see a dsp 5 when I did mine.

As for exhaust, I think 5" will give you more of a deeper drone. Call and talk to a tuner and they'll answer all your questions, I used ppei

That is who i am looking at and have been seeing quite a bit of them on several duramax forums. Again, you have been so much help and you have no idea how much i appreciate it! I will post my progress along the way up until the point i have it all installed and running. Thanks again!

I've never used a mufler, and at 1600 rpm I have a pretty loud drone, Google "lml strait pipe hiss", and "rumble". You can have either built into your tune. Maybe some guys with a muffler will chime in..but I'm a fan of strait pipe, some not so much...YouTube is your friend.

5" straight was to loud for me.. So I put a muffler in and it's still plenty loud, a very noticeable difference from stock lol..

Yea they do and i did not like the "hiss" tune. It sounded bad to me. I like how the "rumble" sounds! Im pretty sure ill be going with a muffler bc when we go on camping trips and vacations, my parents, brother, and niece go with me and we take my truck. I think i finally have my mind made up and cannot wait to get it all ordered and be delivered. I stopped by a family friends place on the way home earlier and told him what i was doing. He is a mechanic and has a shop behind his house. He said when it all gets here give him a holler and he will help me out by putting it on his lift!! Thats gonna be a lifesaver! LOL
