2011 F150 3.5L EcoBoost with high miles

Hey guys so as some of you may know I recently traded my duramax for a 2011 f150 platinum with the 3.5 ecoboost. Only catch. The miles. 288k. Steel worker in PA bought it new and drove back and forth to NC. Took great care of it tho. Everyone that sees it thinks it’s got 20k on it. Not nearly 15 times that. So I figured I’ll keep everyone updated on how it’s doing. So far. I love it. The comfort and the smoothness and it’s pretty dang peppy. Drove 5 hours to the beach the day I got it and have been driving all weekend. Only little issue so far is the SYNC had to be reset to connect with my phone but that was simple. It’s got 275/60 which I think is 33s? And just filled it up at 1/4 tank. My system display was oddly on the money. It read 17.4 mpg and it calculated out to 17.7 so I was pretty happy considering gas is $.50 less a gallon. So far so good! More to come later. I’ll post pics when I get good ones:thumb:.

I'm enjoying my 2014 FX4 Screw with ecoboost. My overall average mpg is right at 18.0mpg but I'm trying out some different driving styles to see if I can improve that even more.

We have 13's and 14's for company trucks. Not many complaints with how much some guys abuse them. Though they all have 50-150k max on them. Most avg around 17.6 hand calculated with mixed interstate and county road driving.

Turned 290k yesterday. Has taken a trip to myrtle beach and just came back from riding in Kentucky towing around 3000 lbs I think (trailer, prairie 360, my yfz, and luggage). Worst tank so far was around 13.5. Best was 17.7 which was mostly highway. So far I like it a lot.

Have considered trading my Denali for a 17 boost with the 0% APR Ford has right now. Just scared ill hate myself for yet again not being in a diesel. Especially since its nearly impossible to make an Eco sound good exhaust wise

My 15 3.5 tune only eco is the fastest truck I've ever had. It would kill pretty much any stock trans dmax. It would have beat my max effort zf truck too.

I've been wanting to get one myself as a family ride.

Get with Innovative diesel, They have some flat out awesome eco boost tunes also known as (eco injections, or id motorsports)

My brother in-laws 2014 eco truck had a box sct file that I put on it since I had one laying around.. it improved it and ran good... Got a file from Innovative and it flat out runs circles around the standard sct, also shifts much better.

I’m not gonna lie guys this thing is pretty quick. I’m happy with my decision. And being a platinum dang she’s fancy lol I’d love a tune but pushing 300k I’m a little concerned about longevity. But I’d love to have a tune and intake and catless DP with an fte resonator and some batmowheels. It’s a great family truck. And still fun to drive and toes pretty good.

Just start with the tune! You don’t have a kid yet so no need for an exhaust to drone out the baby crying :roflmao: lol jk, this is probably why I don’t have any kids yet
