Congratulations on the purchase... 21-24 MPG is wildly impressive. Welcome to Duramax Diesel's :thumb:

thanks^ i have been impressed with the truck so far, i deal w/ alot of test weights (i am part owner of a scale company) and we've had 5G in the back and it wasn't even to the OL stops, i still got 16mpg with it loaded with that kind of weight in it, (tad bouncy) i guess another question is for everyone out there, what kind of weight have you guys put in your trucks?

btw mine is a 2500 CC SB

thanks for all the help!

I don't think you can expect more than that from the truck. Most would wish for that on a daily basis.

If you're getting that kind of mileage, I wouldn't touch a thing! Seriously.

Welcome

Is this all stock?? No exhaust or tune? If so that is crazy:eek:, I actually have a hard time believing it. There isn't much you can do to a 2010 to not void the warranty maybe you could try a Cold air intake but prolly won't gain much. If you don't care about the warranty you could ditch the stock exhaust with the DPF and use a programmer/tuner to delete the codes and pick up some mileage.

sorry guys been a while! i was in ames iowa last weekend visiting the finance, and coming back home (390ish miles) an i was getting 22.9mpg, again hand calculated, and yes it is completely stock and now has 5407 miles on it as of tonight, i wasnt sure if anyone out there did anything to the 10's to get better or not, i was also thinking of an air intake, they claim 19hp and 60(?) fp of torque but i am not sure, what is the average break in time for the new diesels these days?

Lol, I wonder if NOS would help mileage at all, especially on a stock tune? I can see some logic behind it, but I wonder if it would be cost effective at all.

Another way people pick up some mileage is water/meth injection. But that might not bode well with the warranty folks (I don't know, just guessing). I've never used it, but heard good things. But again, you need to figure out if you are actually saving any money, or just splitting your fuel bill up a bit...
