My first pass ever in a car (all my racing before was motorcycles) was a 2000 Camaro SS M6, bone stock down to the window sticker at Carlsbad. 13.85 @ 107.44, IIRC on a 2.5 sixty, spinning through both first and second; Carlsbad really sucked for traction. This was a car badged at 320HP (SLP optioned), and weighed 3660lb before adding a driver to it. Later with a little practice and a pair of Nitto 555R's, it went 12.89. Several drivers took LS1 Camaros into the 12's in "as delivered" trim.

Since the weight is about the same, I'm figuring someone will eventually put one into 11's "stock"; ie- tires and minor tweaks. Kat drove our 2002 Corvette (405HP badging) to an 11.95 at Cal Speedway with just a tire change.

I don't get why the MPH is so bad. 426HP at 3900lb raceweight should be about 111-112 mph.

THAT DUDE REALLY SUCKS AT DRIVING! MAYBE THEY WANT TO ADVERTISE THAT THEIR PRODUCTS WILL KNOCK LIKE 4 SECONDS OFF THE 1/4 MILE TIME:confused: WHO KNOWS?

I'll bet it's an advertisement gimmic. The real racers will get ahold of one and then we will see what it will do!

Either way, I hope chev hangs around long enough to get the supercharged model out in 2011 cause I really would like to buy one.

The supercharged version was Motor Trends magazines way to try and sell magazines nothing more. GM will never produce a Camaro that can out run a Corvette and a Camaro with a LS9 or LSA could do that. Even if they charged more for a SC Camaro then the base Corvette they wouldn't do it. Not enough people would pay for the SC Camaro since most would say "for that kind of money I'd rather buy a Corvette".

GM did build one for SEMA last year but in their own words: This is the kind of thing that an enthusiast would do.

almost stalls it on launch (or, forget to turn the stabilitrak off bud?), sounds like he short shifts second, and finally, I can shift an old VW beetle faster than that.

I caught the same thing Ben - no way he got all of second. I would think he would have been closer to running it out in 3rd as well. My 98 TA would trap 105 and third would do 102.

It is also a company that makes a sh!t load of money hopping up cars. Don't want some hot shot like one of us setting the bar too high to start with.;)

Guys, if you think we are competitive with our ET's, the F-body (Camaro/Firebird) guys are more so.

A 12 second "stock" ET will happen within 30 days or less, then someone will put one into the 11's by July I'd guess.

That's where I got my hot-rodding fix:D. LS1.com ruined me 11 years ago. Little did I know my Dmax would eventually go faster than my TA.:rofl:
