Just picked up a LMM for a steal, but I need advice because this is my first duramax. A couple things I need help with are the steering wheel shakes at 80km/hr, I was looking into a kryptonite front end kit but I’m unsure if it will work as I have a suspension lift of 6” I believe. It also has a 3” body lift that I will be ripping out because I’m not a fan of them. Now with the body lift is there normally stock spacers that sit in replace of the pucks from the body lift? And where would I find those.

I also plan on deleting it aswell with a edit live tune. I come from Cummins so I don’t really know what filters are good for oil and air. Would a bigger air intake help like a BHAF and a Donaldson or Baldwin oil filter?
Sorry for the long essay, just trying to get my roots down.

I have had my LMM since 2009 and have put over 200,000 happy miles on it. One of the best additions to the older Duramax engines is a good lift pump. GM in their infinite wisdom designed this fuel system to pull the full from the tank to the CP3. While this aids in the function of the stock fuel/air separator it will cause nothing but problems with age. The filter head will start sucking air in with time. No need to go crazy on the GPH. I did a FASS 95 for my slightly modified LMM when the truck had 7500 miles on it. You just need to keep a slight head pressure feeding the CP3. Donaldson or Baldwin are both good filters but I usually stick with the WIX XP filters on my truck. Dean

The kryptonite kit will work in your application without any issues. I would recommend a PISK as well, it further strengthens things AND works with a lift.

It depends how your body lift is. Some of them use a spacer along with the OEM mount, some replace it with a taller mount. Worst case scenario, you will have to buy body mounts which S&B offers a really nice silicone kit that comes with everything you'd need. The silicone rides like OEM but lasts much longer. Poly is not a great idea as they ride incredibly stiff.

Oil Filter: I personally run AmsOil OEA or Fram Synthetic Endurance. Both are 100% full synthetic media (not a syn blend), have high quality silicone anti-drainback valves, high quality bypass valves, and are rated lower than most other filters at 20 micron. After seeing both the Fram and AmsOil cut apart next to eachother, they are identical internally with the only difference being the paint and label on the canister.

GM filters are solid as well, but the full syn media is my personal choice.

Air Filter: Just about anything works in these trucks. The factory intake is fairly well suited to the limits of the factory turbocharger. Donaldson makes a great filter for this. If you feel froggy, you can go to something like an S&B intake setup, to which I tend to run dry filters with a filter cover like an "outerwear".
