2007 classic LBZ running " rich"

A guy i work with has a 2007 Classic LBZ,

He is complaining its running Rich ,

I asked him the symptoms, He said No DTC's but a strong fuel smell from the exhaust.

He took it to the dealer and they had no clue.

So the pulled his truck in the garage along with another 2007 Classic and let both idle, The other truck didnt stink up the shop like my friends did.

He has No mods or tuning, all stock.

What should we check ? Balance rates?

any suggestions appreciated!

mine has always smelled rich an my friends never has.. weird but if you figure it out let me know....

either have the egr blocked? that would be my first guess... thats the only difference i can think of so far between mine and my friends truck.

Mine stinks too, but it is a recent phenomena - last 2 or 3 months.

I've had the EGR blocked since the truck had 400 miles on it and have had the same tune in it since last September, so I don't think it's either of those.

I'll be watching this thread with interest.

Fuel maybe some times I notice mine smells more and its obvious since I park in the garage.

Mine just started to stink with diesel fuel within the last couple of weeks but I just installed a lift pump a couple of weeks ago

A clogged or extremely dirty air filter?

I'll post what is found, a freind suggested a possible bad injector tip or body,

It goes in the shop again tomorrow so i should know by monday hopefully.

Again truck is bone stock.

My air filter is new this year (April maybe) and the fuel filter was changed in early Sept.

MY LBZ always smelt like it was running rich. Especially after blocking the EGR plus wide open exhaust.

Exhaust fumes in cab

Hi, My LBZ really stinks and only way I have been avoiding getting a headache everytime I start it up is to turn vent system to recirculate before starting or especially backing up or sitting idling. That at least keeps some of it out of the cab but even after turning it off and as you walk away from vehicle you can smell in lingering. Dealer cant seem to figure it out and last dealer couldnt even smell it. I have MBRP downpipe and exhaust, no cat and EGR is blocked. I noticed this from new actually but seems worse now that ever. With no mods it did it and still does now with mods. Im starting to think I have an injector issue perhaps. I dont know any advice or recent news on this topic would be appreciated.
