Test drove a K5500 truck yesterday. Going down the road at 65 the truck would lock and unlock the converter. No codes were present. Would that mean the converter clutch is on its way out or possibly another problem. Every 30 seconds or so it would lock and unlock. Not sure if it was a A1000 or 2000 series as ive heard they could have either? I know it had a round style bell housing with a big deep pan. Thanks, Eric

The Kodiak has a different strategy on the TCM. When you lift throttle it releases the converter clutch and when you apply throttle it locks the clutch again.
This strategy keeps the Alli cooler as the Kodiak is meant to be a HD tow truck.

This was steady flat ground carrying the same speed. Maybe its supposed to do that but it just didn't seem right. There was no load or anything on the truck other than the truck itself which was a reg cab long chassis truck with a flat bed..... Going 65 on flat ground with the same exact pedal postition seems kind of odd that the converter clutch would kick in and out continuesly while cruising down the road..... I have never had a lock up converter do that before (not that, that means much)
