I've got a 2006 LBZ with the Diablosport Predator on the highest level (which I believe is 120). The other day when I got off the freeway, the truck was acting odd, in that the torque converter appeared to stay locked up. Its like the truck were a manual and was compression braking. Driving around town for a few minutes, the converter never appeared to unlock. I was able to stop, but after starting again I could tell that it was still locked. The truck did not stall or try to pull through the brakes when I came to a stop.
Next morning, started the truck and the check engine light came on and stayed on. Drove to work and the converter still felt locked up. When I got home I used the Predator to clear the codes, I then drove the truck again and it drove normally (the converter was not locked). Drove fine all weekend, and then today after I got off the freeway, it was clear to me that the converter was locked again. When I went out to my truck to move it a little bit ago, the check engine light was on again. I don't have the list of codes from when I cleared it the other day, but the codes I read tonight are below.
I have searched, but almost everything I found related to the torque converter not locking up, rather than not unlocking.
Has anybody had this problem? Any advice? Is the torque converter bad?
Transmission is stock. Fluid looks clean and red, smells bad. Does not smell burnt, but smells like rubbing alcohol mixed with oil. I have never smelt new oil for this transmission so I have no comparison.
Codes:
P0116 Engine Coolant Temperature Range / Performance
P0181 Fuel Temp Sensor A Circuit Range / Performance
P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
the other day when I pulled the codes there was also an EGR low flow code.
Thanks for any help you may have.
I have reverted the truck back to the stock tune.
