Got a tune for my (2005 Silverado 2500 hd 6.6L LLY Allison 5 spd ) from Westers Garage. Mileage increased from 17 mpg to 19 mpg, however , truck now shifts like crap. Consulted with Lyndon from Westers and he claims the tune should not have effected shifting. Should't ,wouldn't ,Couldn't , It sure the hell did.
Got out the Tech2 and loaded factory tune back and shifting is now back to normal. Does anybody have any experience with this application and know why tuning the PCM would cause the truck to shift harsh . I didn't think the tune would have such an impact on shifting since the transmission has it's own controller. Westers doesn't offer any TCM calibrations that work in conjunction with the PCM tuning.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I used to run his tuning, I always had really good luck with his tunes, some of the best fuel mileage I got with my truck but, like 05dmaxdriver said, I always had to give my trans some time to relearn with his tunes.

Also must let trans learn when swithing tunes

Yeah after tuning, my truck would shift kinda rough for a little bit, but you just got to teach the trans again.
I would start on a soft roll and run throw the gears from a dead stop and increase speeds as it gets smoother. Lock the torque converter also changes the computer to a different trans tune that would need to be leaned as well.
