I am at a loss everyone’s told me parts to put on if put em on and still nothing and I don’t have the money to throw at it to just keep guessing. It wouldn’t start I was told it was the cp3 due to leaking diesel as well changed it nothing I put a fuel rail pressure sensor due to the old one being broke I was told now it was an injector I was given a good on to put in to just see if that’s what it was due to cranking it off ether it would fire up and have a cylinder 8 miss fire now it won’t start with ether it fires off and dies instantly I’m completely at a loss and have no earthly idea where to go next or what to do next there is no codes in the computer except for the glow plug module which when I first got the truck it would only fire off with ether it had the code but it ran just fine I been trying to get the truck to run on its own with out any help I put a lift pump on it due to being told that that would fix my problem of air getting in my lines that they thought I had and still nothing

Sounds like you need to take it to a competent shop. Do you have a scan tool that can read the pids? Fuel pressure, balance rates, mm3, crank counts, etc? This would be very helpful in diagnose.

Could also be electrical. Maybe a rub through on the harness that the LLYs are known for. Or the injector pigtails. There could be many things. It's possible tha FICM is failing.

I did it’s in New York for repairs they won’t be getting to it till next month possibly I’m borrowing one for now that I’m not exactly sure how to use the rail pressure showed something like 229psi or something like that it wasn’t even close to 300psi it ran fine till I put the cp3 in you just had to fire it up off ether then when it was running one day it started having a hard miss on cylinder 8 and so I killed the truck never fired it up again for a couple months then a fella gave me an injector for it to put in it won’t bust off still on it own so I give it a shot of ether it fires off and instantly dies now I was wondering if that was the ficm but I wasn’t sure how to test it to know

Very hard to understand you, due to all the words and sentences running together. Maybe try separating the sentences and paragraphs so it's easier to understand. And add punctuations where appropriate

Not sure what the 229 and 300 psi is in reference too. But both are too low to start the engine. It needs closer to 1450 psi before the injectors will open.

I would not be surprised if you had an air leak on the fuel system and it's sucking air. Have you tried priming the filter right before starting? Might have to do this several time to get all the air out. A clear hose after the filter can let you see of you have air in the fuel. This will make starting very difficult

sorry so the 229psi is what my fuel rail pressure is reading.

I figure since I pulled cylinder 8 injector out and the o-ring was split then there might be another one split as well.

I have a lift pump on it that I’ve let run for a bit to try to bleed as much out as possible but I can keep trying on it.

Injector O ring is only to keep debris from working it's way down the injector bore. They will run without them or even when split or damaged. I wouldn't worry about it. Just replace any you find if you pull injectors. But don't go out of your way to replace them an injectors still in.

Might be a good idea to run a return rate check on the injectors, cp3 and relief valve to verify nothing is draining all the pressure.

Lift pump is good. Should keep air out of the lines

Alright I will try that tomorrow when I get a chance and let you know what I find. I appreciate your help and hopefully we can get this thing going again
