2004 to 2006 block

does anyone know if i can use a 2006 bottom end in place of my 2004? i want to just use the 2006 short block as i blew up the 2004 and have a salvage 2006 with low miles.

I think you'll have to swap the reluctor wheel from your 04 on to your 06.

Are just swapping crank an rods? Or everything in the short block just drop the whole lbz in! There a few threads on here bout doing the swap put the 6 speed ally in also

Yes; The heads will bolt onto the shortblock, but you'll need to move the LLY reluctor & oil pump drive gear over to the LBZ shortblock. The LLY reluctor won't bolt onto the LBZ gear and vice versa. Other than that, it should be bolt & go. Only thing to consider with the LBZ shortblock is the pistons tend to be a bit more prone to cracking than the older ones.
