2002 Tahoe swap

I recently purchased a surprisingly clean 2002 Tahoe at an auction that was wrecked in the front. I bought it for the motor and wiring, but it is so clean (other than the obvious front end damage), I am thinking about swapping in an LB7 and 2wd Allison I have sitting in storage to recoup some extra money. The motor is for a project we are building for fun in the shop, and the proceeds from selling the Tahoe would really go a long way to reaching our goal.

A few pictures of the Tahoe. If you look at the pics you will notice that whatever it hit went right over the top of the bumper leaving it and the frame completely untouched. The damage was all contained to the front clip and cooling stack.

Ive been seriously researching this big time, but im going te route of body swapping the 2500 chassis.ill be watching your build to see how things go for you! good luck!

I had all the parts to do this swap a while back. Ended up deciding I wouldn’t enjoy it enough.

I’m sure you’ve researched most of what you need to do but if you need any info let me know Nd I’ll see what I can remember

If so, is it rack and pinion or box/linkage?

R&P will be an SOB to deal with....just like my failed 2wd try.

The Tahoe should be box with idler and linkage. As far as I know, only 1500 series 2x4 pickups got the rack with coil springs. All suv's got a box and torsion bars from what I've seen.

Using a duramax silverado front clip would make it even easier..
