My friends 02 Alero has started having a problem with the ABS and I'd like a second opinion. He said that when making a sharp turn, usually left, while braking, the ABS would kick in, and once stopped the ABS, Trac & SES lights come on. When he came over today and I pulled codes from the ABS computer, there where several wheel speed sensor codes (I didn't write them down before I cleared them ). When I looked at the data, the front left sensor showed *. When I cleared the history codes, it started showing wheel speed. We absolutely could not get it to do it again. However, I found that when parked (obviously), if I wiggled the wire going from the WSS plug on the back of the hub to the body and on to the ABS computer where it bends down from the plug and runs along the control arm, the wheel speed would fluctuate as high as 7mph or so (Sitting in park it shouldn't leave "0" unless you jack up the car and spin the wheel :)). When I went over to the right front and did the same exact thing, the WS value didn't budge. I'm thinking there may be something wrong in the wiring between the plug on the hub and the ABS computer. Any other opinions?
