So doing a motor swap from a 2001 Chevy 3500 the motor we got is from a 2004 Gmc 3500.
Ybridge look's different and one of the sensors.
What need's to be done to put the 2004 motor in the 2001?

If the y bridge is different then you must have a LLY instead of the LB7. What does the injectors look like?

The truck with the blow up motor is a 2001 chevy.

The motor we got came out of a 2004 gmc. I'll get some pictures and get them up.

04 can be either LB7 or LLY. Are the injectors EXternal (LLY) or INternal (LB7) to the valve covers?

If LLY, its a lot of work.

If LB7, Id swap wire harnesses. IIRC, the oil pressure sensor is toward the front of the motor on the 01s, and near the oil cooler on 02-up, so you probably have to extend that portion of the harness.
Bridge can be swapped. Dont forget to buy new gaskets for that.

Strip both engines down to the long blocks, then put the '04 belt accessories and ac compressor on the '01 as said above change the oil psi sensor. The y bridge is a little different at were the intercooler pipe clamps on and the map sensor is also not in the same place. You can use a 45 boot and splice the intercooler pipe togetherif you really wanted to. This is only if ones not a Cali truck or a LLY. Good luck

X2....You can change the y-bridge and the passenger side intake manifold from the 01 to the 04. You will need to swap to the 01 wire harness and oil pressure sensor setup. The 01 oil pressure sensor is a 1 wire sensor compared to the 04 will have a 3 wire sensor. I dont believe the 01 ecm operating system and gauge cluster will work with the 04 sensor and wiring setup so it wont register oil pressure if you try to use the 04 setup.

Couple pictures, still have not found a identical match on the motors. This is the motor that came out of the truck.

This is the motor that we are trying to swap. Look's like the oil pressure sensor is in a different location with 3 wires. The intake has a sensor that the other motor does not have as well.

The sensor in the intake is the MAP sensor. The 01 motor has that sensor its just located on the passenger side intake runner.
