Im looking for a shop to do a full swap for me.
I know it will be a lot of work with the whole wiring harness needing to be swapped in the cab and under the hood.
But since this is the only year i can get away with no Cat or EGR thats what i wanna stick with.
Looking for someone in California with experience doing this swap. But maybe willing to go as far as Arizona.

Problem will be if you have it inspected they may notice that it's an LBZ and require you to have the emission controls in place for an LBZ. The law states for most states you can do an engine swap, but it must be to the same year or newer engine. And if you go to a newer engine, it must have all of the emission controls in place for the newer engine. I know the chances of running across an inspector who knows will be slim, but if it happens you will be right back to square one putting that stuff on to pass. I know in CALI you can bring in a truck from out of state so long as it is at least 2 years old and register it. it will only have to meet the emissions standards for the equipment it came with stock, so you could go with a 03-04 LB7, and use EFILIVE to change the VIN in the ECM. Then it would be a virtually plug and play swap, and with the VIN changed to that of the truck with EFILIVE, they should only look for the emission controls that came on the truck which would be none(provided you get an inspector who doesn't know the visual differrence between an LB7 and LBZ).
