ran 2 stroke every tank or every other tank for the last three years. i always have noticed a difference if i leave it out for a few tank. makes the truck quieter, little better fuel mileage, injectors seem to like it, but adds a bit more smoke :D

Have you had any injector problems?

I used to run ATF till everyone on DP started saying it was bad. It helped milege for sure. Only thing I've ever seen noticable gains from. I'll have to try 2stroke oil.

I run a full bottle of the cheap Wally World 2 stroke oil and 2 quarts of cheap Type F trans fluid every fill up.

I thought Type F was bad because of the friction modifiers in the oil.

Also wouldn't you have some explaining to do if your tank was dipped & had anything red in it... when they are checking for off road diesel?

For this reason, I would also be afraid of any 2 stroke oil that was red.

not since. had a hiccup a few weeks before the rods turned the wrong way when i didnt run any additive. balance rates jumped on a few to 4 or 5. put a big thing of power service in and a quart of two stroke and she went right back to normal after a tank or two. im pretty sure it was just bad fuel though

I stumbled across this thread and decided to give it a shot, and all I can say is WOW. My truck is completely different, it's so quiet now! Before I would have sworn that thing was part Cummins or 7.3 Powerstroke it had so much diesel rattle but now it sounds about like my dads LBZ which is very quiet. I put in a quart and a half to almost a full tank (21 gallons or so) yesterday and after only 40 miles or so it's already improved :D. I told my buddy about it who's got a sticking fpr in his lly, now he's putting it in his tank too

Where are you guys finding the bigger containers? All I can find are the weed eater sized bottles.

Guess I need to be using the universal 2 stroke and not the outboard 2 stroke right??

I buy the cheap quart Containers from Autozone. Like 3.50 a bottle I think, just the cheap universal kind. But walmart does have the gallon containers, I just prefer the quart ones bc it's easy to just dump the whole thing in the tank at fill up time

I run a mixture of about 50% 2-stoke oil, 45% diesel kleen, and 5% some other expensive addtives and amsoil cetane improver etc. I put in what would probably at least a quart per fill up. Trucks seems to be quite happy with it.

I dumped a gallon of Walmart 2 stroke oil in each time I filled the big tank the last 2 fillups. Tank is 115 gallon capacity. Ran thru about a tank and a half so far. Haven't really noticed anything different.

Running 2 stroke oil at 1oz per gal every fillup and my ballance rate spread is within 1.0 across the board at 98k miles. I'll keep running it, can't hurt...
