run away. fast.
I wouldnt trust being under that lift with a vw beetle on it...much less a 8,000lb truck!
for starters, the title and big print says 10k capacity. Then the description says 11,000lb capacity????
second. It says "warranty: yes". Well? What does "yes" mean...30 days? 90 days? 5 years?
third. Good, safe lifts are never "combo symmetrical/assymetrical". BIG red flag there...you cant really build/design a lift that is equally stable in both configurations.
fourth. The carriage assembly looks like a joke. There are no gussets, extra plating, or anything. 11,000lb capacity? My ass...
fifth. the place selling it. they give no info about their company, if spare parts are available. They obviously dont really know anything about the lifts and probably dont even have an address (just their parents basement). They are just a middle man that drop-ships everything directly from the generic dong wang company in china where Ill bet a dozen donuts they would look at you like
if you asked about quality control.
And finally! It weighs 1,680lbs. My 2-post lift from a known-name-brand US-based company, sold to me by a dealer that actually stocks the lifts AND parts in the US, is rated at "only" 9,000lb capacity...and it weighs more than 1,680lbs!! So basically, their "11,000lb lift" has less mass and guts than my 9,000lb lift... sketchy...
Im directing my above comments at the company selling this POS generic lift....not at you! Dont take any offense and I dont mean to be an ass, but this is something that could potentially seriously injure you...and like I said, I sure as hell wouldnt want anything to do with that lift.
www.gregsmithequipment.com is where I got mine. Take a look around their website. There is some great info about the difference between their lifts vs. generic lifts, how their lifts are tested (to AMERICAN standards), and what to look for when purchasing a lift.
