Ok im startin to think that i wanna get into pulling...but don't want to break the vehicle i rely on everyday... so within the next to year imma get a dually and turn.my CC/SB into a puller

I know i can't pull with twins so my plan are this...

Next 2 years (while paying my truck off) im gonna add 60% overs and dual fuelers... and later add a 2.6 turbo and move the twins i have now to my dually towtruck

Jus got a couple of questions... what power i need to be making to.be competitive? Will i need a built motor? Im thinkin of pushin 650-700 stock.motor and hope it last,

Why would be a good tire set up... wanna keep my 22s on it for the street and keep aextra set of wheels/tires for pullin... was think 33x15.50 mickey thompson Atz on some 18 beadlocks?

Should i keep the auto or switch to Zf6?

And lastly... what's a good 2.6 turbo to go with

Like i said this is a process over the next 2 years just tryin to get some ideas an start some conversation

Strictly pulling tires, can't beat STS's IMO.

HP to be competitive is gonna depend on where you live and the pulling Org. there. I know the top 2.6 trucks in the country are 800hp. So then you will need a motor build.

For strictly pulling turbo a custom S466 would be the best.

I would also give Danville a call.

how big is your wallet:joker:

I am not rich by anymeans but i think i can get it done...

"if ya can't fix it ya can't afford it" a wise man once said

Really dual fuelers injectors turbo 8 grand? Is that a good ballpark?

With that setup i could be a force to.be reckon with around here and maybe make accosional trip to scheid or ts just for fun....
Would like to be able to street it a little also, but main base is pulling tuck...possible?

Might want to think about lockers and gears also. Lockers alone front and back are gonna be around another $1800 without install cost.:(

Atleast probably closer to 2k unless you find some deals.. Aprox-$1200 rear (grizzly or similar) and $800.00 front Eaton or ARB,, install is pretty easy if you are some what mechanically inclined:thumb:

Axles and driveshaft should be fine in that power LVL, IMO.. Dont think a T-case brace is mandatory either.. Some driveshaft loops and trans blanket might not be a bad idea though..

Grizzly is $999 about anywhere

I would wait on the axles until they go, could wait for the driveshaft to go too, but I am pretty sure you'll break it sooner or later

My big 2.6 trucks are far north of 850hp and you will end up rebuilding to the entire truck in order to put the power to the ground reliably and be competitive at least in these parts of the country. Pulling is a very expensive hobby. If you haven't hooked yet and don't want to spend the big bucks, stop while you are ahead.

IDK, I cancled all my plans to build a pulling truck, since I got hooked on bowhunting specifically bowhunting high country mule deer. But in hindsight I think it'd been cheaper to build a puller at the very least it'd be easier.

x2 it gets very addicting very fast, not trying to dissuade you from pulling, but I'm just saying if your not wanting to drop some major benjamins, and then keep putting money in it then I wouldn't do it
