So my girlfriend and I have been dating for a year on Dec 10th. What are some ideas you guys think would work well? I've already got her a necklace, hoping to take her out to dinner, maybe some flowers and a card. What do you guys think?

Thanks

In general, women want things that show you will make a burnt offering in their honor:

Dead plants: usually flowers.
Dead animals: normally only the skins are used.
Rocks: things dug out of the ground and polished up so they look better, but still just rocks.

Avoid anything that has a real purpose:

That deluxe vacuum will be the only sex you're getting if it arrives with gift wrap on it.

Kat often wants hotrod parts, mostly because I have crappy taste in "bling".

:D

Love you Kat!

Lotta truth there.:D

If it plugs into the wall you can probably cross it off the list.

My advice after 19 years of marriage... don't go balls out yet :D

If you set a precedence now of a "big show" you better be prepared to up the anty or at least match it EVERY YEAR.

Dinner and some flowers is a good "starter pack" IMO :)

 I'm sorry but you guys crack me up. Maybe I'm not like most women. But, I'm happy with a card and flowers.

Pat is right though I'm happiest when he buys me hotrod parts and I buy my own bling.

Love you Pat

I agree with the boys don't go over the top - keep it simple. I think the necklace and dinner is enough.

I'm like you Kat - happy with cards and flowers....my problem is that they usually come from the kids not Ross. The flowers are usually half dead daisies they picked out of the garden .

Memorable pressies from Ross over the years include Garden Mulch and a Clothes airer. I can't recall if they were birthday or aniversary presents - they all fall on the same day (and I'm sure they came with something more personal for me, but you tend to forget that part over the years). We started dating at my 18th birthday party, and to keep things simple with dates got married on my birthday 9 years later. In January we'll have been married 9 years.

Cheers
Cindy

A friend of the family, Lynn got the ultimate Christmas gift from her husband one year.

A toilet. Granted, it was a nice toilet, but it was still something you poop in.

They were divorced not too long afterwards.

He was just telling her the relationship was "in the crapper" in a subliminal way.

Roni always says shes happy with card and flowers too. Not that I listen to that...;)

I hear Meat Scooter rides are fun, Maybe take her on one of those! Victoria Secret's has some nice riding gear you could buy her.:D:p

:rofl::rofl: Meat scooter :rofl::rofl: Thats a new one for me!

Dunno the Victoria Secret goodies are deff nice! But that one kinda depends on the girl some times, might get you a pass to the dog house, But you also might get a real good return too:p

I just started dating again so its back to square 1 for me!

Updates:

Well I ended up taking her to dinner last night instead of tonight on account of both of our schedules not cooperating. So I took her to a nice restaurant, got a secluded room for just the two of us. Turned out really nice. After dinner, I took her back to my lounge. Its got a pool table, big screen, 2 couches, 2 beds, XM radio, 10.3 surround sound...but i digress. Lied down on the beds for a while, had a few laughs, wrestled around, then i gave her the necklace. She loved it, its a small heart with her birth stone on it. Took her back home little while after. Dont think I went over the top, and it turned out really great! No meat scooters for us yet. Thanks for all your help!
