Well guess it is time to start a build thread on this one. I am working on transplanting a lb7/allison combo into my 1966 chevy suburban 4x4 truck. Already have the engine harness and multiples miscs n pieces in the garage as we speak. first order of business is replacing to trashed flexplate and ring gear assembly and possibly the starter, then convert allison to 2wd to interface in the divorced t case setup the truck has available. Then wiring and gauge maybe some fuel the fire over and go :D. Here are some pictures of smurfette the truck getting this nice engine. I already have the floorboard cleaned up and the front end off the truck for when the engine is ready to slip in soon. Luckily this truck was a factory v8 4 speed setup so I have the high floorboard setup in her.

Yep this is the only other truck I have found with this shade of blue the other is in storage in hobart ok until such time as I can get home and finish its ls swap in a few years. Its nick is Smurf it is a 64 gmc 3/4 ton it was gonna be a hotrod but have settled for just getting it running stock outside but nice nice interior lol. Here are a few other pics of stuff been working on today. Got the seats semi place and marked, hydroboost steering box on the frame with mucho bracing in and out of the frame and the hydroboost cylinder firewall mounts painted today. The radiator is by champion 4 core aluminum 1 inch row tubes in the sucker so should keep this engine nice n cool. Gauges I am looking at getting some parts to interface the ole sckool gauges to the new engine namely a capillary tube and oem 66 water temp sender in additoin a converter box for the mech speedo. going to make a center dash pillar assembly with a boost guage, pyro gauge, wait to start light, and mil lamp. This truck is just gonna be a driver lol. Until I have a fortune saved to have custom metal work done to the bottom end of the cab lol..

friday to come

well broke down n said hell wid it. Taking the engine all by itself over to the chevy dealer to get the flywheel broke loose and replaced even my 5 foot cheater bar was havin trouble with the flexplate bolts. luckily they will have new bolts on hand for this lol. Definitely be cheaper than buying a 3/4 impact I am thinking. Once that is done bolt it back to trans and converter and start on 2wd allison parts next.

Will have some pics up next week of the scrap metal 263 transfer case that i bought with this setup apparently this was one of the many 263 prone to chain rub issues there are two nice little holes in the casing near where the chain rides. Waiting on RPM to get me the allison 2wd parts I need to put my trans back together. Anything I should be aware of on this trans reassembling the rear of the casing? Will have some wiring harness pics here soon as well still tracing a few wire hither and yon through it so I can make sure i have enough fuses and relays where i need them.
I am also waiting on some delphi waterproof bulkheads to come in so I can get the interior pedal/gauge wires through the firewall and some grommets for the american autowire harness than I have all laid out and ready to go in the truck :D.
