I've done ~170 on a friend's R1, I don't even like to look down at that speed - you know how much road you travel in the time it takes to check your speed? That's why I can't own a Rocket, just cruisers for me.

I "test drove" a 2004 hayabusa in Yuma, AZ. I dont know what the speed was, but I managed to find the governer, somewhere around 180-190 as an educated guess. Lets just say, the governer doesn't gradually pull fuel until you're no longer accelerating. Instead, at a predetermined speed, it shuts off fuel and spark altogether. I spent about 5 seconds hanging over the windscreen staring at the front tire a foot from my face, trying to drag my ass back up over the handlebars. Couldn't believe deceleration could be so violent.

Like Jordan said, I think I left a little skidmark..... and not on the road.
