I got a call the other day that a guy has a complete lbz engine. Possibly a bent rod of cracked piston. It is supposed to have everything on it. I was wondering if this would be worth picking up or not. I was told 52k on it.

Turbo, injectors, etc... Are on there as well? If so I would think so, maybe for a build it would work out.

Engine $1500
Crower Rods $2699
Head Studs $650
Cut & Coated Pistons Im not sure what the price of them would be

But to me that would be a hell of a deal $5000 is what a working drop in stock engines cost around here

Id say go for it :thumb:

We have picked up core motors from our local wrecking yard for $500. I would do some shopping first if I was you. What if the piston is completly gone and the wrist pin beat the hell out of the block. Then your left with a nice boat anchor and trying to make your money back. Just my two cents.

If it's got all the accessories on it it's worth it-even if you just part it out.

Heck, turn me onto about 4 of those. It would make a trip to Texas pay for itself and then some. Even a fire damage engine goes for more than $500 around here.

I would but it would suck if you got a couple with beat to hell blocks. The first lly we tore down had a "missing piston" and beat a gouge into the walls. If we run into any more that are good I'll definently give you a holler.

I did the same thing last year and when i pulled the head off expecting to find a cracked piston i found a wrist pin and connecting rod with a big hole in the cylinder wall. I actually paid the same price for it too
