Has anyone tried putting a set of 15" wheels on their truck? I have been looking at a drag racing specific tire, and it seems that there is a much better selection for a 15" tire. I know a lot of offroaders grind their calipers to run a 15" wheel on their 1 ton axles. Thoughts?

Adam has iirc. I want too aswell. Wheel choices are very slim, Cragar and US. Wheel have like 3-4 choices of steel wheels total.

Ya, steel wheels I think would be the only real option for wheels. I did a quick search, and I couldn't find any off the shelf aluminum wheels, but I'm afraid they might have more of a clearance issue than steel.

I think to run 15's you would have to put smaller brakes on it.

IIRC Pat bought a set and would have had to grind like a 1/2" off. The 16's are even close.

From what i remember, on the front it would be alot of work but the rears, a little clearancing of the caliper but not much. An aftermarket caliper option might work too? But as a 2wd I only need to worry about the rears. :D

So bringing this back up... Anybody fit a 15" rim yet? I'm looking at front runners for the drag truck in 27x4.5. I fount them in M&H as a 27x4.5-16, but not sure on the weight rating. MT has a tire with a "heavy" rating, but in a 15". Just need to be able to clear the caliper as the rim will only be 5" wide
