New here came over from the place. I went and ran my truck last night at the track for the first time since i modified it, i ran it stock a few times. I am running a ppe standard had it set on 225, ppe shim kit, ppe airbox mod w/ afe tube, blocker plate, pcv reroute, afe intercooler tube, mbrp four inch turbo back, and a stock trans with a transgo jr, oh and i am sleeved and have braces and a super steer idler pivot. Ok so i was hoping this truck would be in the 13's with this setup now i am no drag racing expert so bare with me i need lots of advice and opinions im trying to learn. My reaction time was a little on slow side .528, my 60 foot was 1.9 and best time was 14.063@95 it was extremely hot and humid out which probably isn't a good thing diesel's like cool dry air correct? now what do ya'll think is this truck capable of 13's on a better day and when i get a few more passes under my belt im hoping to go 13.7xx maybe with a lift pump or something else i want to get this time on a stock trans before i get the suncoast. So tell me what you guys think thanks. :beer

You should be able to get your 60' times down to the 1.7 to 1.8 range.

We haven't really run many trucks on stock trans but UpnGone was in the 12s with the TransGo Jr. on our tune. DrHolliday went 12.9 @ 101 with a built trans and exhaust only - no lift pump, shim, or anything.

IMO your limit is not hard parts at this point - it's how hard you are willing to be on the trans. You have alot more performance parts than alot of trucks that have gone much faster - your truck is capable of 12.9s the way it sits with better tuning but the trans won't be happy with you. Once you build the trans and install a lift pump you should be good for 12.5s with the right tuning.

Put on a set of stock 245's if you got some around, and make some spring clamps. Should help the 60'

i went 14.3 with the same mods and a lift pump and spring clamps on stock tranny. i could tell the truck had more in it but the trann is bad now. i was spinning at our track and my best 60ft was 1.900 and i would limp with 200 feet left:mad: so i left overdrive off and coasted the rest of they way and got a 14.3!!!!i think you'll be able to hit high 13's with stock tires and good track conditions! good luck let us know when you do. oh and get a lift pump!!!!

Once you get your 60 ft times down you be in the high 13's... Did you have any problems with spinning launching the way you did?

I've found for me that the most consistant way to launch as far as ET goes is to look at the rpms and always launch at the same rpm. With a stock trans I'd try to launch somewhere in the 1800-2000 rpm range.

Thank you all for the help! I think a lift pump is going to be my next thing but im gonna try to get high 13's next week the way it sits i feel like the truck is running strong but the converter and the trans are my week point. The converter could be another reason that my 60 fts are high it feels real loose when i launch almost like turbo lag i have a video of a 14.1xx im gonna post when i get its on someone elses camera when i get i'll post it here i think its time for a built trans.

Be careful doing that, thats how I welded my stock C1's solid and blew out the outer rubber seal to the c1 apply piston.

i know. the programmer is out and i don't do launches anymore as of right now. i'm waiting for work to pick up a little to buy a tranny kit but i don't want to spend my money all in one place that i have saved just incase something were to happen with my job!!

Lift pump, drop your front end down and put on a set of spring clamps on the rear and you should be able to get into the low 13's IMO. But like previously said, your trans will not like you after too many times like this!;)
On EDIT- My MPH with a 13.25 pass was only 5 more mph than what you are running so I think your truck has it in it!

good luck , just some advice as far as launching , start @ 2000 rpm or 12 psi ............. keep going up a bit each time till either you start hopping or the 60's slow down

Well had a 15 mph head wind truck felt stronger than the last time i ran did a few things different and clamped the springs i could not break 14.4x@90 mph what gives would the head wind affect me that much i mean i know these trucks are far from aerodynamic but 5 mph is alot what gives traction felt like somewhat of an issue i ran a good six or seven passes in the right lane and got consistent and could'nt break 90 mph then tried the left lane a little faster time and better 60 ft but still 90mph so do ya'll think it was wind or what?
