I know this question has been asked a million times already but im stuck on which converter to pick. My truck will see the track and get hooked to a sled occasionally but its mainly a street truck. From what people say either the 1056 or the 1058 would work just fine. Im just wondering if theres any difference in how they would feel. I've already read the info on the suncoast website and at least a hundred posts saying "i have the 105x and love it" so i know they are all good converters. I guess im just wondering if the 1058 is worth it.

i would say if your going to stay with the stock charger then the 1056 would be a good choice , if you plan on upgrading the 1058 has a higher stall and will help the larger huffer with lighting .doesnt mean that you cant use the 1056 with a bigger charger. something to keep in mind is alot of it is preference i like the looser converters i live in high altitude so it helps with spooling .

That helps. I think i might just go with the 1056 if the only real difference is the ability to spool a larger turbo a little easier. If i ever go with a bigger turbo it wont be for at least another year and im not gonna go crazy with it. I would probably only put on some kind of S300 or a 4088.

Last year the 1056 was tightened up a little to bring it closer to the 1057 since 1057 cores were hard to come by. It is not a 1057 but does a good job imitating it.

Cool, that is good to know.

That is good to know. I was worried about the 1056 being too much like a stock converter. I've never driven a duramax with an aftermarket converter. Can u actually feel a difference? I've driven a dodge with an aftermarket converter and that was quite the ride. I still prefer my chevy though.

Thw 1056 lets you know when it is locked...not a neck snapper but nice and firm.

The old guys use a 1056 the young guys play with something a little more violent:D Just Kidding, I;ve seen guys with 1056 run close to if not the same as someone with 1057. Converters enable us to spool the turbo on the line.

i got a 1056 and love it. you can definately tell when it locks up, but it is not annoyingly hard. way better than my stock convertor for sure.
