LMM: 09 3500HD CCLB LTZ Bose stereo???

So I had to pull the door panel off the driver front door and noticed the speaker surround had a tear in it, I'm pretty sure it says bose. The truck is apart being worked on, so I don't know how good the stock stereo is, I figured I'd ask to see if they sound good, or if I should upgrade speakers?

Should I use silicon over the tears to repair it?

Are you talking about the dish/cone on the speaker? If so you need a new speaker.

Just the foam surround.

If it’s not part of the speaker I’d just leave it torn but that’s me.

The foam surround is part of the speaker, the cone is the center of the speaker like a nipple on a woman lol

I replaced my Bose system. Bose is a 2 ohm system and all the aftermarket speaker's sold are 4 ohm so I just replaced everything. Plus this gave me Bluetooth when I replaced the receiver. I have the classic body style so im not sure what changed for the Bose system in your year truck.

Well would the bose in these LTZ trucks be like the bose in cadillac escalades? Does the truck have a subwoofer in the center console?

I sold my 02 escalade and bought this truck, and this truck is very nice on the inside, its just apart so I haven't hard the sound system yet.

They both have subs in the center console but they changed the system with the new body style which I am not to familiar with. I also know crutchfield has Bose listed with 7 or 9 speakers? Do you plan on changing out the radio also or just speaker's?

The replacement bose speakers are fairly cheap to buy, unless you have to have a bumpin system the Bose speakers are plenty good, I actually prefer them over aftermarket I think they sound alot more crisp but that's just me

I replaced my stock speakers with some cheap Kicker speakers and I can't tell the difference. I will say though, if I were going the more expensive route I would have also bought JL Audio.

Bose is Bose, I couldnt tell any difference in the speakers in my 08’ from my 05’ but the 05’ had better base, I assuming there’s a hair smaller amp in the 07.5-up, but speakers appeared the same to me, the plugs may be different but that’s no biggie.

I also prefer the Bose speakers over others, I kept stock head unit and speakers and put a thing in the back of the stereo to run my amp and sub on the LLY.
