Got a question for everyone. Same truck thats in sig. I changed my NSBU switch a month or 2 ago. The trucks run fine ever since then. Tonight It threw a 0872 and 0700 code just like the title says. This happened after we came out of some muddy trails where 4wd was used. Drove about a 1.5 miles down the road and the SES light came on. Cleared the code with the PPE, turned the truck on put it in D and about 2 seconds later it made some noises and threw the codes again. Ive done some searching and found a lot of responses about the E shift valve? Im going to change fluid and both allison filters tomorrow. Someone enlighten me about the E shift valve. And please tell me the trans doesnt need to be taken out. Could there be a short somewhere? Thanks in advanced

No need to drop the trans to get to the E shift valve. You just need to pull the valve body to get at it. Is this a stock transmission? How many miles on the spin on? What kind of trans temps were you seeing?

P0872 can mean a short to ground in the E shift solenoid circuit, bad E shift solenoid, or stuck E shift valve in the stroked position ( which will keep the pressure switch grounded ).
I don't see very many E shift valves stick except after overhaul; then it is quite common. If it just all of a sudden sticks; it usually means there is a lot of trash in the trans ( not a good sign ). A bad Pressure Switch Manifold can cause this also and possibly an NSBU ( very rare ).

The temperature didnt come up at all. The truck ran fine for a mile or so then I noticed the light came on as i turned into a neighborhood to drop my buddy off at his car. At first I thought it might be my NSBU switch again but when it went out the first time the indicator light on the dash didnt work and the truck wouldnt move. I do believe these 2 codes were 2 of the 4 I had when the switch went bad the first time. Now Its just stuck in 3rd. Yes the transmission is stock. Would changing the fluid and filters possibly fix this or do I have to get the E shift valve as well? Are they easy to come by? thanks for the help guys.

welp, I got my diagrams from alldata. I changed the E shift valve, pressure switch assembly, fluid and filters and im still having the problem. Does that mean its electrical? If so, where do I start?
