Hey guys, so ik this question has been best to death time and time again, but I'll take one more swing, so befor I had a 05 and it got up to 100k miles, I put a intake, 5inch turbo back, and I was running a hypertec tuner, truck ran great clean was on the stage 1 tune for about a year when it started loosing coolant someplace with no external signs with pressure in the coolant tank, from what I read it looked to be a blown head gasket... No one wanted to touch it so we just traded it in... That is all behind us and prolly 2 years back at this point.. So we got a 08-the current truck in my picture, doesn't have the urea tank under the passenger side. Bone stock, we currently tow a 14ft dump trailer, a 20" vnose sled hauler, and soon to be a 36ft-- 8.5" tall gooseneck cargo trailer..... That's all background, so I left this truck stock because i didn't wanna go into motor issues with this truck. This last pm I had done on the truck, my mech told me that there's 2 tubes that are for the regen system or whatever system it is to burn the exhaust clean, well one of the tubes has broken off, also it has a leak at the axle back due to a Stud being broke, so really I need a new exhaust, with that being said, i don't want it to loud, which our last truck had a 5incn straight and it wasn't terrible but I'd like to tone it down a hair, I got told a 4 inch is louder then a 5 due to being more of a scream and the 5 being just deeper, what's your opinions, 5inch with a resonator? Or which would be a good sounding medium loudness exhausts..... Also I still have the airaid intake that I mind as well put on this truck, so what do I run for a tuner? I've heard good things about efi, aswell as ppe? Any advice? I mean I don't wanna lift a head or blow a head gasket so what's everyone else's experiences with all of this? I will prolly be getting a ppe tranny cooler aswell but just starting to test the waters, and didn't wanna run through 300 pages of threads due to time issues but any advice is greatly appreciated thanks

Efi live simple delete tune and 4" exhaust with a muffler will be perfect for your application. Truck should last just as long as stock as long as tuning is good quality.

^^^^ x2

I've got a 4" Silverline with muffler on my 08 LMM and it sounds good. Definitely quieter than my lly was straight piped with the stock turbo.

The EGR delete is a good idea. Cheapest and easiest way is to get a blocker plate and have your tuner disable the EGR. The tuner would have no problem tuning your truck with your planned mods. You should get some gauges while you are at it. A pyrometer (exhaust gas temperature gauge) is very important. A boost gauge is a good idea as well.

I'm running the muffler that comes with the Silverline kit.

So Chris I was looking at the other efi, ppe thread and it looks like the efi is the tuner that is more tunable, as far as getting a guy off here to tune it....I have to go try and find a erg thread
