Hi i have been looking for a diesel for a while, mostly for a duramax just cuz have always been a chevy fan, and just found a 2008 1 ton LTZ duramax for a good price and low K.
Was wondering how common these injector problems are with the newer dmaxs? And if there are many other common problems to be worried about.
Also how about city and highway MPG ?

Just check the service history, injector problems are rare on these. Mileage is all over the board, some get terrible mileage, others get better, see if you can keep it for a day and try to get a check on mileage that way, if your concerned about it.

:hello: & :welcome5:

Injector problems have been mainly a problem with the LB7's which are 01-04 model years.

If you have a vin# then post it that section to have it checked to see if there have been any problems with the truck your looking at.

Just an FYI I'm going to delete your other thread since it is basically the same question:thumb:

08 LMM seems to be reliable, so far. Only injector problems on the LMM engine that I am aware usually involve some form of tuning on stock motor. Same for the transmissions all failures that I am aware usually involve some form of tuning.

If the carfax (or equivalent) and a Vin check hx from a gm person show its clean, I would then take to an independent mechanic for a checkup and wallet biopsy.

Like was mentioned above mileage is reported in a wide range, as the famous saying goes "your mileage will vary", can be easily applied.

If then you remain interested, I would throw my money on the table.
I have a 2500 08 and really only done routine maint. on my truck so far. 23k in almost 2 years I have owned it.:D:happy2:
