I have a good Allison from a 08 lmm . I have a 05 lly and will be doing a trans for it . can I use the bell housing/pump and use the valve body and park switch from my 5 speed on the lmm trans .if that would work I was planning on building the 6 speed. then when i remove my 5 speed then swap out the bell housing and valve body and switch just was wondering if it can be done thank you for any input

Do it the other way around. Keep your 5 speed but use the 6 speed pump and c1/c2 drum. Give Evan a shout and he can line you up with a kit. Mine is a suncoast gmax 6-3r kit custom with alto and gpz clutches. Also has Mike L shift and trim springs. Mike L psi spring and shim. You can modify your converter flow valve or get Georges special spring. Works great either way.Trans is top notch couldnt be happier with it. Just to clear up any confusion this trans is my 01 lb7.

thank you for your reply I wasn't sure on what parts to use from the six speed . I knew they updated the hubs from the 5 to six . will make some phone calls when I get ready for the build . I'm in direct with ppe and have used there kits . was going to us them again but I also wanted to give mike L a call too . by doing this I would just get a kit for the six speed right . again thank you for your help

Mike is a great guy and will help you a great amount. He is very knowledgeable. The last I talked to him he wasnt selling kits. You could have him build you a trans though. Maybe this has changed I dont know? I will tell you to go thru Evan because the items he will ship you are not available in a kit. These are builder put together the best components available that have been tried and tested. Nothing @ all against PPE but if you were to put out a poll I would say 2 out of 10 would purchase ppe over one of Evans put together Suncoast kits. Also most importantly Evan's support is unbelievable!

2/10? Don't think so

Okay maybe 1/10 then. And of course I am talking about current kits not from 2005 era. I am talking within the last year there has been outstanding results with the raybestos / altos combos with a good builder of course. Not trying to trash talk PPE @ all I have alot of their gear on my rig I am just stating what I feel is the way to go on a trans kit. I may be wrong but have built a few myself with outstanding results.
