Ok, so I just loaded up the big bad hypertech level 3 tune  and was off to the bank to get some cash and then some bagels (because the bagel place's ATM rapes you on fees..).
I get out of the bank, jump on the freeway because I want to log the EGT differences between level 1 and level 3. I jump off the offramp to make a left hand turn over the bridge. Well the exit has two left hand turn lanes on this stretch of road. So up next to me comes a guy in a Toyota dealership parts truck. It is a regular cab Tundra, stake bed with the 5.7 badge up front (Its a parts delivery truck...lol).
I've heard they were quick, but, most of what i hear is people claiming they busted their chops with stock trucks... So I think "hell on level 3 i'll show this guy something!" I creep up a bit, he looks over like I'm crazy and then creeps with me :happy2:.
I'm on the outside lane and as I'm going around it I get a little squiggly (for fun of course) and when the lane goes straight I DROP the hammer... I pull away like a scalded cat!!! I'm all proud of my truck! The defuel was a BITCH though, holy shit! (STOCK TRANS still).

Well he jumps behind me and we wind up taking the same right hand turn... as it turns into two lanes I get cocky and jump into the right hand lane and wait.... as he comes around the corner I let him get to about my bed and NAIL IT. I wasn't fast enough, he had a jump...It didn't matter though....

HE WALKED ME about a TRUCK length, then it shifted and I got to about his rear cab corner and that's where he kept me as he slowly creeped ahead till about 80...
I let off first, there was no way I was going to be able to save this one... I gave him a thumbs up and a laugh and he waved and went on his way....

Cliffs Notes:
Hypertech on level 3 in a CC Dually WON'T squeek you by a regular cab stake bedded 5.7 Tundra....

Honestly - because i'm still learning. I got the hypertech and i compare it to the things I make. This is my only truck and it has to be reliable to tow my horse trailer around for my wife... so i stick with the 'safe' tunes and modify them and make changes slowly as i go....
^x2. But i mean come on, you have a CC dually. I say that's pretty good. :D

I didn't get raped thankfully, but, from what I've heard I thought I'd at least squeeze by him.... and you're right hypertech sucks :p

I haven't been able to find any stock trans safe tunes for efilive - I DO have trippin's tow tune (which has served my well btw) but it's about 90 hp i was quoted and i was wondering if i could get by with a bit more... So i just need to find a trans safe tune now :)

Did you ride the short bus, why would you run Hypertech when you have the king of tuneing at your fngertips?
LOL - No on the short bus... the hypertech tuning and trippin's tow tune gives me the ability to actually compare and see the changes made before I change anything. I'm intimidated by the power :teknology: and I'm scared to make changes and to hurt something... I'm here to learn:dr:

I know I know...

He said he was logging it...maybe it was for a comparison to his EFI tunes.

Sucks to get beat, but the GVW was not in your favor.
I actually was logging, i'm thinking about changing my timing table, but, I don't have any idea what to change it to for better mile age while on the freeway empty just cruising, and then towing a load... I was logging to see where the hypertech3 put me @ 25 -30 mm3 @ around 68 - 72 mph.

I just ran into the tundra by chance...

It did suck to get beat, but, I could literally put him in the back of my truck and tow him home... I'll just keep telling myself that and it'll make me feel better:laugh:

You guys have helped me alot with my turbo brake setup, and i thank you, anymore knowledge you'd like to share to a EFI greeny w/a stocker trans I'd be grateful!

hey from one six wheeler to another. I feel your pain. Its hard move all that weight in a hurry. Don't sweat it. I go spanked by a late 70s vette (not even close to stock) the other day. I knew he'd get me but i just couldn't resist trying! :D

Jason, it takes a man to admit defeat.

But, having had the hypertech at first myself, there are a LOT better tunes out there as you know, The hypetech shifted terrible in my truck even with a JR kit.

Keep on pluggin and you'll make a tune that will never lose to a toiletyota:D

I'm glad you said something Tim, I thought it was just me w/ the shifting issue... It defueled getting on the freeway that it literally spilled my drink - seriously.

I was logging torque reduction and saw a requested torque reduction value of 507 ft lbs...No shit...I think that's the one that flew my iphone across the dash and my soda onto my phone
