07 lbz using 9 qts of oil in 4200 miles

Ok I am a sales mng at a polaris dealer i just sold a atv to a cust. that has a 07 lbz w/ 75k miles bone stock never had so much as a tune on it. He says that it is using oil like fuel in the last 4200mi has used 9 qt ? No cel lights no runability problems no loss of power no smoke no drips or puddles ? Said that he took it to the dealer and the are going to keep an eye on the consumption what ever that means any one have any idea thanks

its really using 9 qts???? Thats basically eating an entire crankcase full of oil in 4000 miles? And no smoke or blowby?

I am just going by what he says i watched the truck start and listened to it and sounded normal and had no smoke or haze said he is putting qt in every time he fills up. he showed me the paper work from the dealer they are making him bring it back to them each time to top of so they can keep a log of it i know it makes no sense

What is "normal" oil consumption per chevrolet standards? 1 quart every 7500 miles or something like that??

Not shure what the "norm" is i run the piss out of my lbz and never add anything just change it it has 30k miles on it

Not sure on the dmax , but on the gassers like the 8.1 3 quarts per oil change ( 4k ) is still too little for them to repair it, from what i have seen when i was a mechanic for a governmet fleet, and taking vehicles in for warrentee work . And yes it was burning it , no leaks in sight .
