First post here, not sure if I'm in the right thread.. The bearings on my alternator failed so I replaced with Autozone rebuilt, which has a 4 pin plug. Shortly after the install my gauge went down and the truck died. Bought another, then realized that even though the plug is the same size, the alternators I'm buying are 4pin and the plug on the truck only has 2 terminals and basically blank spaces for the other 2 pins from the alternator. the only 2 pin alternators I can find have the smaller plug so my question is.. do I need to find the 4pin sized plug on alternator with only 2 terminals or should it be 4pin and the first replacement was just faulty. Don't have the original to compare to (already returned for core) Please help asap.
