07.5 paint recall? its rusting

i have a 07.5 gmc white. i washed it today and noticed what looks like rust on the entire truck i had read that their was a thin paint issue wasnt sure if anyone else hurd this. Kinda mad that a 52k doller truck with 50k miles on it is rusting. you can see all the small spots and acually feel them. Anyone have any info?

Yup..

Rust will be in small isolated area's where dirt and junk will sit(an get wet without drying)..Like the lower front fenders, top of the wheel wells etc..

you should be able to get it off. .

Try a clay bar and spray wax..

What is rail dust?

Little brown specs on your paint that look like fly dirt or rust. It gets on the truck during transport. My white trucks are covered in it. You need to clay bar it to get it all off.

Its not just spots like you said its the entire truck. ill try a clay bar tomorrow and see what happends.

I have seen some trucks with rail dust bumper to bumper but it usually isolated to hoods and roofs mostly.

It's not fun to get off but it's nothing to worry about it. My dads Yukon it also covered in it.
