got this truck on a trade. supposed to have a dead piston as per the GM dealer. my understanding is the previous owner drove it to the dealer with 574 000 km on it complaining about a noise. dealer promptly sells him a new truck
I get the truck with the passanger side motor torn apart. just intake/grid heater, upper valve cover, 4 injectors, and a few glow plugs. before I tear this motor out I wanted to get it started and really see whats happening. put it all back together, go to start and everything works fine untill I go to crank it, i get nothing. everything in the truck works as it should. if I jump the crank relay with 12 volts it will turn over.
I do get a DIC saying to service the theft system. quick google search showed me that there was a TSB out for this, and of course my VIN falls in the know problem VIN's.
Can I just reflash a new OS or is this something only a tech 2 can deal with?
going to check the fuse box connections and the power block near the passanger side batt. just looking for opinions :thumb:
