I got a friend who tows alot of trailers with his stock 06 3500 not sure if its a lly or lbz and he gets around 10 mpg, What can he do to boost his mpg I thought of steve shelley at power up diesel would be his best bet or does anybody else have any ideas

If he's only gettin 10 MPG he may have other issues, we pull our 48 foot six horse 21K pounds loaded and still get 13-15 depending on conditions.

I would say a nice tow tune with EFI, and a turbo back exhast would be the best bet. An intake would be a waste IMO seeing as it is an LBZ pretty much just detuned if it is an LLY, so the intake flows plenty well.

if that is a big tag trailer i would say that is normal. is its a goose or 5ver then he should get a couple more out of it. all about the aerodynamics :)

more timing, less boost at cruise but more during acceleration, more fuel pressure and less pulsewidth at cruise
