Hey guys, hope someone can steer me in right direction with my intentions. Just bought an 02 with a sick lb7. Ive got an 05 w/lly that i bought back from insurance co after a cab and box fire. Engine, trans and all electronics from firewall forward survived. My hope is that I can swap it all out and make the 02 pull again. Any feed back will surely help.

Thanks Ferm, That doesn't SOUND terrible, or is there alot of wire hacking invovled? Have you heard of anyone gettin good results from that swap? What happens if I want to swap the 5speed for the sixxer also, it's there you know, or should I quit while I'm ahead?

05 LLY is a 5 speed also just like the LB7, the 06 LLY is a 6 speed, but it is basically just an LBZ and a completely different animal all together.

I drove that truck for 4 and half years and thought it was a six! Anyway, let me get this straight, if I splice the lly injector harness into the lb7 ficm I should be ok even with the difference in voltages to the injectors?

That is what I have read on here. PM IOWALLY as he has done one of these.

lly into lb7

Hi, I am changing my 02 lb7 to an 04.5 lly also. I wanted to know if you know what all I need to do to make this work? I tried to pm iowally as well but, no workety. Do you know of any one else that has done one of these. Any help would be great, thanks. Chad.

Supposedly running the LLY injectors with the LB7 FICM works, but I'm not sold on it. I'm not sure we won't be hearing that the LLY injectors burned out at some point down the road. Hey, a 12v light bulb will run on 24v for a little while, it just won't have as long a life :dontknow:. Supposedly GM/bosch cut the operating voltage in half on the LLY vs the LB7 (then halved again on the LBZ and newer), Although it's "Unconfirmed". Still, there MUST be SOME reason why LB7's are puking injectors left and right yet LLY and newer rarely go out (at least in the fashon LB7's do).

I'd love to have a chance to tinker with that kind of project myself as I can't think of any reason why the LLY FICM wouldn't work with the LB7 ECM other than some kind of mis-wiring (reversed or incorrect CAN bus for example).
