Howdy. A friend mentioned there may be updates to the TCM program for my Ally to increase pressures on the lockup clutch in the converter. Anyone know for sure? Called stealership today and they want to book it in and have me pay for 1.5-2 hours of time to "check." Would like to know more before I have to take it to them.

Background: towing up long hills in 5th, lockup clutch will slip and send tranny into limp mode. I've lived with it for a long time now by just dropping out of OD before it happens.

Thanks,
Al

Line pressure isn't controlled electronically in your 05, all you could change is how quickly the tcc locks up, but once locked, it goes full pressure, so if you're slipping on hills, theres an internal issue. And I don't believe there was any updates to the tcm programming for the 05. I know 01 and 02 had some updates, but that was for a harsh 2-1 downshift, and to add overdrive lockout.

When TCC occurs, it drops 100 PSI across the board.
