04 lly gauges go "out" intermittently

I have a 04 lly reg cab zf6 the gauges and radio will intermittently stop working ...seems to happen while driving... Mostly but will happen most everytime I pull the lever for 4x4 if I push it back to 2x4 they come back on...on occasion they just go out while driving. When I say they go out all the gauges except the tach and mph go to 0 and the airbag,batt,4x4 light all come on...an ideas? The cluster has a repair tag from 2012 so I believe it must have been rebuilt then... The only other thing is the radio also loses power 90% on the time this happens

Sounds like something is shorting out the databus since so much stuff on the databus is going out at once. Since it happens with the transfer case shifter, try looking for shorts around the shifter.

I just fixed a very similar problem that I'd been chasing for over a year. Gage's would occasionally drop to 0, and all the idiot lights would come on. Mine turned out to be a corroded air bag module under the driver's seat. Although that may not be your culprit, I concur with TheFerm, probably a module somewhere on the data bus that's shorting out. They can be a PITA to nail down.
