I'm looking in to recon cab lights for my 03 2500hd. I don't have factory cab lights on my truck so I was wondering how you hook them up. I have read that that there is a wiring harness hook up on the PS and all you have to do is buy the $30 harness from GM, plug it in and they will work. Is this true and am I missing something?

I have a 06 gmc and there is a plug on passenger side. I'm sure gm sells the harness but I know recon does.
Just wire it into your headlight switch or make a switch yourself. Costs next to nothing. I do headlights just because then when my headlights auto turn on so do my cab lights.
Yup just wire them to your headlights. It's easy and make sure you measure ten times before you drill. And lots of silicon caulking so they don't leak. I haven't had a problem with leaking yet but lots of people do
Easy breezy job. Installed for 3 people already. Knocked the last one out within a hour. Like stated above check measurements multiple times
Well I was wondering if I can buy the gm or recon harness and wire it to the recon light then plug it in somewhere on the PS pillar without having to run a wire to my headlights.

It is what I used with my recon lights and they come on automatically with lights or with just marker lights like they are suppose to.
