Hey everyone I'm new here so try not to be too hard on me.
I have an 03 Sierra 2500. 6.0 gas 145000 I love the truck, had a 99 before this. Body is perfect no rust, interior is super clean with no issues. Tubular cognito control arms and leveling kit. Basically I have a hard time pulling my boat with this setup. I can do it but it's a struggle. I couldn't justify a diesel when I bought this but now I pretty much know that I need one. Anyway, I would love to buy a wrecked truck or motor/trans combo and do the swap. I know I have to do a body lift to clear the trans as my truck is not an hd. But I see a lot on here about issues with the type of communication the different years use. I'm a handy guy, a machinist and spent years rebuilding heavy equipment. Not worried about any of the mechanical work. But how much wiring will I have to change? Etc. couldn't find a thread with someone doing this swap on here. Thanks in advance!
