Looking for input to consider while transplanting a lb7 into my wife's yukon. What particularly should I to alter? Cross member? What wiring wise will I need that's on the truck itself? I beleive I have most of what's needed in engine, tranny, engine harness and such. I will need a ecm,tcm and tranny harness for certain. I can fabricate cross members and such. I just want to know what I'm getting into. Will I need a new instrument cluster? Any information is valuable so let me hear it
Thanks Shane

I was going to do this a couple years ago. It was a bad idea when I had it. Now it's her idea so it's good to do. LOL

That means you need to get it done now before it turns back into a bad idea.

I'd box the frame also.

We are not looking for a hotrod! I know it's going to run a little too good for what it would be in.

My wife's main concern is if she's going to loose her dual exhaust. Haha! I have everything to put a 800to900 hp motor in it. I will just have to tune it down enough to run good, get good fuel mileage and not tear up the suspension and rear end.

Keep it under 500 to the wheels IMHO. A member over at DP put an LBZ with around 600 or so, and ended up breaking his windshield from the torque twisting the frame. I'm around 400-450 to the wheels, and the 14 bolt 10.5" diff seems to be doing fine. You'll need the cluster, add the wiring for the wait to start light, add in the wire to connect the TCM to the data bus, and a few other things. If her's is a 2500 the mounts and such aden't supposed to be that hard, but 1500's require more extravigant engine mounts. It's a doable swap, just make sure you use the proper gen engine and harness to go back in it.

You will need pass side truck engine mount that bolts to the frame and the truck trans crossmember. That is it for mounting. Dont forget to do the reverse rake body lift. You should just save your time and buy my wifes yukon

Do the frame pad mounts fit the same as the HD? Driver's side on an angle like a DMax frame pad?
