I just bought an 02 with 66k miles on original injectors. Would I be smart to replace the originals in case they would stick open? If I do, was looking at the sac injectors so hopefully won't have issues for a while. The balance rates all are within spec, so wanted to see what opinions I got.

i wouldn't say unicorn, it only has 60k. maybe if it had 160 or 260 and they were original id say its more unicorn'ish.

i was blown away to find out mine lasted 165k, that's a little more rare. i thought for sure they were done before but they were original injectors and the service history was done at the dealer until the day i bought it from the original owner and all the sealer was original.

I just meant an 02 with only 60k on it.

I'd like to see pics of this unicorn.

Sean, mine had 156,000 on them when I rebuilt. Nothing wrong with them except the trash from the hp lines. Had them rebuilt by a local shop that came highly recommended, which turned out was a big mistake on my part.

Sounds good guys. Ive had a bad streak of luck so maybe I'm paranoid. I originally bought a 14' lml wrecked. Fixed it all up and start to driver her and sure enough, bad head gaskets at 27k mls. Anyone want an all stock lml? Lost my faith in lml's so bought a good ol' lb7. It sat for roughly 4 years. Im going over everything to make sure fluids are new but I drove it a few hours on the fuel that was in it. Hope these original injectors last and bought some stanadyne to help. Had an lly for years so look forward to learning about the lb7. Seems like an altogether different animal

Now that I've been putting more miles on, there is a fuel knock at 1500-2000 rpm under load. Full throttle, the knock goes away. Idle is good with no smoke and balance rates are all +/-2 in park. I just figured these lb7's are a little raspy but I'm thinking definite fuel knock. Could this be my fpr being bad? I read a little about shutting off each injector while I'm driving. How would I do this with refi live? Thanks for the help!
