I'm wondering if it's possible to get an 02 transfer case to work in an 06? I'm pretty sure the wiring would have to be replaced to those from a 03+ transfer case. Anything else? How about the elec. dash switch itself?

Can an elec. transfer case be made into a manual one so that it has the stick on the floor instead of the buttons on the dash?

Thanks.

Mike, the truck doesn't have any electronics in it for a transfer case, so could I make the 02 parts for the transfer case work in the truck or would I need electronics from an 06 truck?

Exactly which electrical things need to be added or swapped out for those from a 4wd?

What ele would be required for the manual shifted transfer case?

Thinking of converting the 06 from 2wd to 4wd and need to know the best way to go about this. It's a wrecked truck and was gonna use it as the donor for the 83 but honestly, at least at this point, it's too nice of a truck to hack up if I can put it back together the way I want - 4wd.

About the front differential... I'm 90% sure the front diff. et al is the same from an 01-07, therefore an 02 donor would bolt into the 06 so long as use the mounting brackets and stuff from the 02 were swapped over and I installed 4wd hubs. My understanding is everything else up front is the same for 2wd and 4wd.

The two different Tcases (manual and auto) have different machining on the top where the actuator goes. They are made from the same casting, so if you have a mill, you can retro I think.
