02 stock file on a 01?

I am working on a 01 duramax. It has some box tuner tune on it. Can I load a 02 stock file on it for a base tune and start my tuning on that? I heard that the 02s have a differant operating system but don't know if that's true.. thanks

Yes use the 02 even if you have an 01 system... the 01 has been known to lock up ecms
