Is the lmm pump better than the current oem style options out there for classics? Direct bolt in and hose fittings the same also?

Update I don’t feel the BBB I put in is going to live too long. It’s a marked improvement over what I had in there but still has more steering wheel play than I would like. Gonna try to tighten it a bit and see what happens. Has a 5 year warranty.

I can't comment on the LMM pump being higher flow over LB7/LLY/LBZ but the PSC certainly is a higher volume pump than 01-10 OEM.

got any links to back it?

The info i have is that it was strictly a revision of previous versions with a 12 vane instead of 10 vane, valve change and union change. that does not equate to higher output.

another interesting fact/personal experience is the ACdelco OEM LMM pump i put in my old 02 made no difference over the original pump in terms of steering input required by me. Same with applied braking. I did not change a whole bunch of parts at once either to give a placibo affect, just re-sealed the leakin input on the steering box.

I don't, I recall it was 3 gpm and around 1300 psi for a LMM pump? The LBZ pump was just over a thousand and high 2's gpm? Someone had tested them, it was about 2 years ago when I bought this. It is not just the number of vanes, I think the 12 vane were deeper, the cover is concave, and the wear/thrust plates are thicker.

One thing I remember was there were AC Delco made in Mexico units with the same internals as the earlier generation, I bought mine from the dealer and confirmed it had the heavier parts. But it still did have the 1 shim in the pressure vavle.

Maybe check yours, I pulled all shims!

mine was an AC Delco OEM, so a 100% factory part, not a professional or advantage.

if you can find those specs, id be intrested to see them!

You got a brand and p/n for the pump you bought?

I put a LMM pump on my truck and really did not notice anything. I am in the process of installing a PSC.

So what’s the deal with these now. Is the Mopar one 6bolt and a direct fit ?

Have my frame getting sandblasted now, trying to figure out what I want to do about steering upgrades while it’s apart. Already have the kryptonite idler brace, a supersteer idler and cognito pisk.

PSC box IMO is the way to go. The Chinese 6 bolt boxes seem good but I don’t know if anyone with a ton of miles on them yet.

Ordered one this morning!

Also got kryptonite pitman, idler, tie rods and a PPE Centerlink. That completes my suspension and steering upgrades.

I'm actually of a different opinion on the pitman arm. I ran the Rare Parts because it articulates and doesn't use the box to try to hold the centerlink still. Then I used a stronger idler and idler arm, weld in brace, Kryptonite centerlink, kryptonite tie rods, Tony's centerlink bracket and his lower control arm bracket. It was a fantastic setup.

I know a few individuals with the "China" 3 spline PSC box and they seem to be having great luck this far but neither to my knowledge have loads of miles on them. I personally ordered one myself to try as I have a brand new PPE 7/8" bolt centerlink setup here and I didn't want to waste the parts or deal with selling them.

It's No surprise China figured out what we were actually using the parts for since they are manufactured over there. They are just going direct and cutting the Dealers out. Its What they Do... But, Good luck when it comes to a warranty... Most of those sellers will be gone within 1 year.

At least when you purchase through a dealer here they will support it.

I agree. On the flip side, nobody will ever know if we don't try the product.

For $280 it's a gamble I'll take to see if we have another viable option on the market.

Have a link to the $280 one? I’ll order one and compare it to the psc one.

Bump...

I run the PPE steering setup and do not want to go away from my 33 spline and 3 flat pitman.

Is this the correct 6 bolt box from China?:

Chyna

It has 6 bolts, 33 spline, application box says it is correct. They have sold lots, but gave generic responses when I asked questions, they claim it matches the image.

Any other offerings for the 6 bolt box in a 33 spline? I am suddenly leaving puddles out the pitman seal and need to swap mine now.

It's linked above called "Chyna"

Picture in the listing now shows a 4 bolt one. Did you receive yours already? Is it 6 bolt?

Honestly good catch. I blindly copied the link like an idiot and ordered it as well lol.

It’ll be here in a few days. Guess it’s back to the drawing board.
