A few days ago, I changed the fuel filter, as well as the fass filters and also the air. When im on my race tunes, I get a p0087. But the thing is..I have a fass 150 and dual CP3s . Where should I start checking for problems before I do some logging?

Thanks

You wont visually see a leak if the FRPV is leaking. It will blow open the valve or seep past the threads (if it was removed and not tightened down enough) just enough to throw the code. In either situation the fuel will be returned, and wont show an actual leak

you can use a box end wrench if you do not have the 20mmx1.5 nut it worked fine for me :)

its possible if the filters on the fass are on the suction side that they arent seated correctly or possibly have the old gasket stuck to the housing and its sucking some air from there. if it was on the pressure side of the pump you would see a leak for sure at some point. I had a loose WIF sensor once on the factory filter before I had the lift pump and it was sucking air through there. not enough to cause running problems but on WOT it would give me a p0087.

ok so he changed his filters and his fprv crapped out at the same time? :screwy:
why go through all the work of shimming or plugging it when it could be something as simple as a lose or not well seated filter?:argue:

Very good point, but a lot of the time it is the FPRV running a race tune....

however, A simple bottle test will tell you yes or no.

because it is pretty evident that your fprv needs to be shimmed.... it is pretty obvious. IIRC this guy has posted threads about not running in the 12's even with his Dual CP3's... this is most likely why

ok I Wasnt aware of previous posts about not running in the 12s.there are alot of variables that could attribute to that however that would be a thread derailment... but he did say that this is a recent occurrence which would lead me to believe he should check the last things changed / serviced / messed with. although we should probably ask what brand filters he has installed... maybe hes using one of those crappy napas... I had problems with those myself on a race tune.

I used GM filters for the stock fuel, and FASS for the lift pump. I dont think it would be the fprv because i have ran it several times at the track with nothing changed besides the filters and had no problems. So right now I'm thinking something plugged up a filter really quick. bad batch of fuel?? Or it is sucking air like mentioned above.

It would still be a good idea to block the FPRV, and like Mike said a nice bottle test and a log would tell you what you need to know. Maybe the oring didn't seat well when you changed the filter, I know how they like to move around when trying to set them in their groves
