    Front end noise...going crazy

Success! :woott: Jacked up the truck, tugged on the left front tire, tons of movement. Changed out the hub assembly in no time with the help of McRats write up (thanks!). Rides smooth as new again. Didn't have time for the second one, but will do it soon. Thanks for all the feedback, it helped a...

    Front end noise...going crazy

Got my Timken wheel bearings on order, but in the meantime I've got the 'Service Brake System' message on my DIC. Are these possibly related? I'll also check u-joints. How exactly do you do that?

Do the 3500 HD SRWs have bigger bearings?

    Front end noise...going crazy

Good news so far Step one in mystery noise elimination complete. Changed the old T/C fluid out for some fresh new Transynd (not trying to start Trannsynd vs 5W30 debate). It was full to the top, a little burnt, but still full :woott: Inspected everywhere for pump rub signs, none so far...

    Front end noise...going crazy

..but that's why I sold my 1500 bought a heavy duty truck, so the bearings/driveline/breaks could handle the torture. :banghead: Oh well, guess I would have replaced a lot more parts if hadn't got it, plus it's a blast to drive :driving:

    Front end noise...going crazy

Hub I thought wheel bearings were pretty constant noises that changed when turning left and right. Did your's do that? Mine doesn't change with wheel direction?

    Front end noise...going crazy

I've got a new noise coming from my front end. It's not a random popping/creaking suspension type noise, but instead its a rotational bearing/shaft type noise and I can feel it very pronounced in the steering wheel (and my seat/floor). I thought it may be a wheel bearing, but it's not...

Allison 6sp: New Transgo, Jr w/EFI

Relearn shifts necessary? One more question guys. The guy at the shop who puy my Transgo and EFI in said he did the 'relearn' for me. The way I undersrand it is that you do a couple passes at light, medium, and WOT through all the gears. My truck's never been at WOT in its life because I baby...

Allison 6sp: New Transgo, Jr w/EFI

Transgo Tranny has smoothed out alot over the last couple days. Hooked up my 5er and pulled it today on 40hp tow tune w/turbo brake, did great! Shifted smooth, wasn't rough at all. The turbo brake wasn't as aggressive as I thought, though. Oh well. Thanks guys!

Allison 6sp: New Transgo, Jr w/EFI

Relearn I only got the EFI really for the turbo brake for pulling, a cleaned up stock tune for daily driving, and a 40 hp tow tune. The guy just put the 80 (w/turbo brake) and 120 on there because he said he had a couple places to fill up on the DSP5 in case I wanted them. I do have and EGT...

Allison 6sp: New Transgo, Jr w/EFI

Hi, I just had a Transgo, Jr, installed on my LBZ along with EFI w/DSP5. The shop I bought it from did the relearn which was a few passes at light, 1/2, 3/4, and WOT. I didn't like the WOT part because I baby my truck, but anyway. It shifts great on the tow settings (40 and 80 hp w/turbo...

265s Decided on BFG A/T KO's 265/75/16. I'll take pics of the 285's on it now and the 265's after the fact to help someone who has to make this hard decision to decide later . Thanks for all the input guys! Tommy

    285's or 265's (again)?!?!?

Wow that's a big difference, what kind of tires are on your truck?

    285's or 265's (again)?!?!?

I've pretty much decided on the 265s because of towing, now Im just trying to decide between BFG A/T and Mastercraft Courser CTs. I think it was easier to pick my childs name when he was born!

    285's or 265's (again)?!?!?

Difference jonathancasey19, can you elaborate on the "what a difference" quote? I take it going down a size was good (fuel mileage/handling)?

    285's or 265's (again)?!?!?

My tires on my DMax are almost gone and it's time to buy new ones. I'm struggling, like everyone else on here after reading all the posts, to decide between 285/75/16s and 265/75/16s . I pull a 12,000 lb 5th wheel RV from May thru October on really long trips somethimes, and I drive about...
