    Block or head resurfacing?

Ok, I have a technical question about head and block resurfacing. So, I am currently contemplating on buying a lml truck that says it has blown head gaskets. Now, that isn't too big of a deal for me really. But, upon doing some random reading, someone said the engine block needs refaced??? I...

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

The guy needed his truck back to drive it a couple days this weekend. So, he took it today. I didn't get a chance to finish it. I will test the wires when he brings it back. I told him it wasn't going to build any boost or have much power. Hopefully it don't tear it up driving it a little with a...

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

Ok, I will check the wires thoroughly tommorow. I sure appreciate your advise, help and info. This is an awesome forum. There's a lot more technical knowledge and info here than some other forums. Again, thanks!

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

Ok, good info. So, what would be a maxed out psi on the live data? I read 37 psi regardless of engine load or rpm fluctuations. If I disconnect the connector, the reading drops to 4.5 psi. If 37 is the max, then does that mean the signal wire is maxed out to 5v? Here is the associated codes and...

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

Of course, the map probably wouldn't read 0 unplugged if the ecm senses a open circuit and switches to default setting to keep it going...right? However, I don't know what the programmed default reading for a map sensor would be.

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

I will ohm them tommorow and check the continuity. If I understand the working principle of the map, the signal wire should read a amperage drop through the resistor and send that to the ecm, which is programmed to a "value conversion" that takes the Amp reading and translates it to psi or gm/s...

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

I did not ohm the wires. Unplugged it is still reading 4.5psi on live data. Plugged in it goes up to 37psi. Are you thinking the signal wire is shorted to ground? That was my thought. If the 5v ref or the low ref was shorted to ground or power, then it would be reading less than 5 or more than...

How hard is it to swap a 2017 l5p into a 2017 6.0 gas truck

You guys have more ambition than I do. I have did a few frankenstien swaps in my day and it usually involves me laying on my creeper under the rig questioning all my stupid decisions. I am doing a zf6 swap into my dodge right now. The adapter plate just hit my high dollar banks down pipe...and...

2005 lly duramax map sensor/wiring issue

Hey guys, I am working on a truck for a guy and it's a 2005 lly. It kept blowing off the y bridge elbow, because it had a cheap egr delete on it. I order the y bridge strap from pro fab and put on for him. That fixed the blowing off issue, but I noticed it was way over boosting. (Probably why it...

2016 LML. Maybe a bad injector?

@Bdsankey Well, my friend finally got the results back on his injectors and all 8 of his tested bad. The shop warranted all 8 of them and they ordered them through S&S diesel. I tried to get them to order from you, but the shop insisted on ordering from the company that tested them, which is...

2016 LML. Maybe a bad injector?

Also, as a side note. I have been driving mine and all the codes went off but injector number 2 code. The code is different now though. Its P01CE. My scanner just reads "injector 2 performance". The fuel rattle and misfire is gone too. I might just have 1 bad injector and even it is firing. No...

2016 LML. Maybe a bad injector?

@Bdsankey I am still waiting for the injector testing to be performed. What's going on is that a friend of mine sent all 8 of his off to be tested. He said that regardless he is going to order a new set. Some of them are under warrenty through a shop doing work on it. I gave him your name and...

2016 LML. Maybe a bad injector?

So, I have the truck back from the tuner. He said 2 of my injectors were bad and that the circuits tested good. He also said that he showed a vacuum loss of 3% and that anything above 1% indicated a vacuum/boost leak or bad injector seal. Below is the balance rates and some of the test info.

2016 LML. Maybe a bad injector?

Sorry, it was a Dorman injector, not Duralast. I also replaced the fuel line with it. Here is the injectors I have changed with new ones...injector 3 (duralast), injector 8 (duralast)...both coded at dealership. Now injector 7 (dorman) not coded yet.
