    drivers side door lock problem

Mine did this but I managed to fix it by taking the plastic lock 'slide' off of the inside of the door and re-bending the steel wire that goes into the plastic slide. Its been great ever since.

wrong dam radio, story of my life

I installed a single DIN Alpine CDA-9886 in the DIN-and-a-half hole ('02 Silverado 3500). Ordered it from Crutchfield. Super easy to install and the kit came with all of the mounting hardware/adapters/wires. Swapped in a new set of high quality 6 inch speakers and it sounds great. Subs are...

Backup cam, anyone mess with these?

If you haven't bought a GPS yet than buy one with the back up camera feature built right in. You could also buy a head unit with the back up camera plug built right in. They get pretty slick but either way you're looking for a device with a VGA input. I plan on getting a back up camera and...

    Air bag sensor

Guess I should report back. I installed an Alpine 9886 head unit. Ordered it from Crutchfield and they treated me like gold and included all of the adapters (wiring harness, dash kit, mount kit). I also installed 2 sets of Energy 6 inch 2 way speakers. They work great for a 6 inch. Learned...

LB7: power steering and brake issues

I've seen this done before. You may have switched or confused the power steering lines.

    Air bag sensor

Wow, that was fast. I'll take your advice and search else where. I'm partial to Pioneer and I'm going to use a media controller type of unit (dump the whole cd thing). Thanks again for the help and advice.

    Air bag sensor

I am looking to replace my stock head unit but ran into a bit of a snag. The local car stereo shop says that the air bag sensors are in the stereo and I will need to spend an additional 70 dollar to replace it. I called Future shop, Best Buy and another local shop and they didn't seem to know...

    Remove overload springs

Removing the overload bumpers (not the springs themselves) seemed to work a small miracle. The truck rides really nice. I am now considering air bags that I will use in place of the overloads so looking for opinions on who makes the best.. The truck is bone stock with 80,000 miles on it...

    Remove overload springs

The sulastic is really impressive, thanks. I might even get a set but I don't see them helping the harsh ride when the helper springs come into play. I have to add at least 1000 pounds to the truck if I am going to make it in the winter (2wd) and this is going to bring in the helpers...

    Remove overload springs

I'm new here so be patient. I own a 2002 Chevrolet C3500 dually with 4 doors and an 8 foot box. The build sheet shows HD Package (standard stuff) and a Camper Package. Since the family and I are using the truck as a daily driver I deflated the rear tires to 45 psi. This really helped the...

    Take overloads off or not?

I am very new to this forum and I would'nt know a "Caltrac" if it ran me over. I am interested in the original question....removing or dissabling the helper springs. I am looking for a better ride and from what I can see all I need to do is remove the overload bumbers. Can do with hand tools...
